The precautions when welding with the customized MIG welding torch

The flow rate and arc length of the shielding gas in the customized MIG welding torch should be controlled within the specified range.

1. The flow rate and arc length of the shielding gas in the customized MIG welding torch should be controlled within the specified range. Under normal circumstances, the shielding gas flow rate of the MIG welding torch is 20 to 25L per minute, and the arc length is generally controlled at about 4 to 6 mm.

2. The influence of wind is particularly detrimental to the welding of customized MIG welding torch. When the wind speed is greater than the specified range, windproof measures should be taken. At the same time, attention should be paid to the ventilation of the MIG welding torch to avoid injury to welding workers and operators.

3. The DC welding of the customized MIG welding torch adopts a flat characteristic welding power source and reverse polarity (the wire connected to the positive pole).

4. When using MIG torch, 99.99 percents pure argon, or 2 percents Ar plus O2 is generally used. When the gas combination of Ar and O2 is used in the customized MIG welding torch, ultra-low carbon stainless steel should be welded, and Ar and CO2 mixed welding steel should not be used.

5. Strictly remove impurities such as oil, rust and moisture from the customized MIG welding torch and the welding place during welding.
